Caffeinated Randomness / Link Up

Today I am linking to two different blogging prompts.  Look at me, the little multi-tasking fish.  Using both fins at once.

As always I am being random on Friday in honour of Caffeinated Randomness at Under Grace and Over Coffee.  This week however I am doing it by sharing 10 random facts about myself as requested by Lynnette Kraft over at Dancing Barefoot on Weathered Ground.  Both amazing women of God - please go visit their blogs.

  1. I like the fact that I am tall because it make me feel superior;
  2. I don’t like the fact that I like being tall;
  3. Babies and young children love me, for no apparent reason;
  4. Some of my hobbies include Calligraphy, and Origami, which I am quite good at;
  5. Whenever I thought I had failed an exam, I would build castles, palaces and even villages out of paper, covering entire rooms of the house;
  6. My memory is so good I often pretend not to remember things so as not to scare people;
  7. I own my own business, which I operate from home;
  8. I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.  (No, I didn’t, but I love Johnny cash);
  9. I’m not really a fish you know. I just pretend. I’m actually allergic to seafood;
  10. Since I started school, I have spent less than two years not studying anything.

  1. I'm so disappointed to learn that you are tall. So, how tall are we talking?

    Exactly what kind of work do you do from home?

    I didn't realize fish had great memories...I thought that was elephants. Big Al says I never forget anything...except where I placed my car keys!

  2. Yeah, it would appear I'm something of a traitor to my species. I can actually remember things for more than 2 seconds. It's a gift, and a curse.

    I turned part of my house into an office and waiting room, and now I run my practice from there. Keeps the overheads down, and gives me flexibility for my other endeavours.

  4. Hey, it was fun visiting today. I'll pretend your front porch is on the beach, since you like fish and I love the beach! ha! Allergic to fish huh? That's funny since you are all about fish!

    I loved your 10 things about you. I think it's hilarious that you hate that you love being tall. What a confession!

    Children must know that you like them and that's why they like you. You think? You do like them right?:)

    I'm SO glad you never really shot a man in Reno. That would have been so hard to accept. (hee hee hee)

    Thanks for joining in! Off to another porch!

    My husband has that same scary kind of memory...like remembering his high school locker combinations.....I barely remember what I had for breakfast.

  7. Allergic to seafood? Never would have guessed Sharkbait would be allergic to seafood!

    How tall are you? Not that I'm jealous or anything.

  8. I loved the Johnny Cash reference! And thank you for getting that song stuck in my head this morning. Appreciate it. :)

    Thanks for the kind words, Sharky. You're pretty alright yourself. Have a great weekend!

  9. For those of you who asked...

    I run a legal practice from my house,
    I won't say how tall, but I do have "eyes of blue"
    I do in fact love babies and young kids, and I suppose the fact that I am comfortable with them does help.

  10. Technically I also use my office to write poems, short stories, novels, bible studies, training manuals and theology assignments; but since the law is the only one that pays in actual cash (sometimes) that is the one I was referring to.

  11. Allergic to all seafood, or just shellfish?

    I used to have a memory like you are describing, where i was embarrassed about how much i remembered & all the details. I lost that with a recent illness & it scared me a lot. It's better, now, tho.

    I like being self-employed, also. Makes life so much easier. :)

  12. I think the fact that you are disclosing tidbits such as being tall and having eyes of blue is enough for your readers to demand a photo. just sayin'

    who is behind the one who calls himself Shark Bait???
    hoo ha ha

  13. I am not allergic to seafood....I just think it is disgusting :)

    And I understand your first two....just the opposite for me....I am short and kinda like it :)

    Fun list!

    Have a great weekend.

  14. Okay, not all seafood. I actually can eat fish and calamari. There might be other things, but I'm not testing them to find out. (They smell disgusting, and I'm not taking any chances of nearly dying again.)

    While I'm being honest and open here, I think what Kathryn mentions about losing the memory with an illness is one of my biggest fears. The idea that I might start forgetting things is quite scary, since it is such a big part of who I am.
