Biblios Hokku – Now what?

For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that I recently completed an insane project called Biblios Hokku

To put it simply, I wrote 66 Haikus, one for each book of the Bible.

Which took me a while, but it was pretty awesome.  It was amazing, and challenging, and caused me to really study each book in depth.  But now it is over.

And I don’t know what to do next.

Suggestions?  What would you like to see?

Song of Songs in limericks?

I need a new project.

(For after November of course, because November is National Novel Writing Month.)

  1. I have to admit, Song of Songs in limericks is something that I would be curious to see....

  2. Hmm. It was a joke, but it does sound like quite a challenge.

There once was a king named sollie
    Who wrote songs about....

Actually, this is harder than it looks.

  3. How about breaking down the Infant Narratives in the Bible into Haiku (Hokku) during Advent?
Start with the promise of a Savior in Genesis, the prophesies in Isaiah, then into the New Testament from Annunciation to Nativity (or Presentation?)
If not Haiku / Hokku, maybe Cinquain? I'm not sure about Limerick....

It would be a way to prepare for Advent, and inspire the masses who read your blog in their own Advent preparations. (Then maybe can expand later into Lent and Easter if you like, or dropped if you don't...)

    Just a thought...

  4. Although I became too ADD to accomplish it an eighth time, reading the Bible cover to cover never fails to be fresh and new. I think there's Someone else you might ask about what to do with it as you go. Biblios Hokku was a wonderful inspiration, so I feel confident that the next attempt would be even better.

Say Hoo Ha Ha!
