That Church

There is no that church. It is this Church, or not Church at all. When we point fingers at parts of the Bride’s body, we are pointing fingers at the Bride.

And I don’t think her Groom likes it when we point.

*glances nervously at his own finger, puts it behind his back.*

(In response to this post at that blog)

  1. Yes yes yes!

    That was a fantastic post!

What you said about finger pointing reminds me of this

When you point your finger at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you.

  2. Amen!

That said, I need to reread this post more than once. I'm very critical of certain denominations -- in the end, that criticism doesn't serve Jesus very well.

  3. Hey, I just loved your comment. It made me laugh and it was so true! Thanks for mentioning and reading my blog. :)

  4. I'd already seen Duane's post when I caught this. Thanks for your words, favorite fish. I want to cry sometimes for all the putdowns from within the (this/that)church. I love her. I love her people individually. I love her Bridegroom.

(Is that a fin or fin-ger you put behind your back?)

  5. I suppose that's de-bait-able. :)

Say Hoo Ha Ha!
